Inauguration of AAKSFM

Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma Foundation for Music was inaugurated on the 5th November, 2016. The Chief Guest of the day was Dr. HS Jamadagni, Rt. Prof, IISc and the Guest of honor was Karnataka Kalashree Pandit. Ravindra Yavagal.

To mark this occasion two academic sessions were conducted by two veteran Mridangam maestros – ‘Mridanga Kala Shiromani’, ‘Ganakala Bhooshana’ Vid. TAS Mani and ‘Mridanga Kala Shiromani’, ‘Sangeetha Kala Rathna’ Vid. AV Anand

‘Mridanga Kala Shiromani’, ‘Ganakala Bhooshana’ Vid. TAS Mani – Vid. TAS Mani is one of the veteran and top-ranking mridangam artists of our country. He has performed with various musicians in India and abroad as well. He is also the founder of Karnataka College of Percussion which imparts quality music education till date.

‘Mridanga Kala Shiromani’, ‘Sangeetha Kala Rathna’ Vid. AV Anand – Vid. AV Anand is a renowned and one of the top-notch mridangam player of our country. He was taught to play mridangam by ghatam player KS Manjunath from a young age and has accompanied many stalwarts of the era including Chowdiah, Chembai, T. R. Mahalingam, Sundaram Balachander, Doraiswamy Iyengar, etc.

This event was organized in the Seva Sadan Auditorium, Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, which was attended by a large student fraternity and also a huge number of senior artists.
